Any new Rubber recommendations?

Post by Bilko1000 »

Hi all,

Just finished almost the S23's on my Blade I didnt think much of them, they wear quickly and steer heavier than the Rosso IV.

I prefer a sporty road tyre on the more agile side, my Road 6 tyres feel more agile than S23's.

Can anyone recommend a decent wearing quick handling tyre for road use, Im thinking Dunlop Sportsmart IV at the mo.

I was on S22 but now I’m on Pirelli Diablo Rossi 4 and although I’m not a fast experienced rider these have transformed my ride, they turn in so nice and warm up quickly. I’m more confident now

For a long time I was on Metzler M7's they are a great tyre and very sticky and perform well in wet or dry. However when i started to do some longer distances especially in the wet i was stunned how quick the tyre wore out and they were shot in a few thousand miles. I have now swapped over to more of a road based tyre for my road bike and i am using the Metzeler Roadtec 01 SE. Have been impressed with them they are giving me a decent amount of mileage and i don't seem to be loosing anything on the handling as have never felt a slip on them.

Rosso Corsa 4, Michelin power cup 2 both very nice and sticky, you'll only get about 2.5k out if a rear though

I've just fitted a set of Diablo Rosso's and they seem pretty decent. Before that were Metzler M5's, which were also excellent. I think the Metzlers did something like 4 - 4.5k :-?

Dunlop Sportsmarts for me, especially as my KTMs run the same size/profiles.
