Use Autoaid Brian - accept no substitute. https://www.autoaidbreakdown.co.uk/
I'll say no more except to remind you that in the recent past, when I worked as a recovery driver for a local independent garage rescuing bikes and cars throughout the southwest, the number of people we rescued that had given up on the mainstream providers because of shoddy service was a real eye-opener.

AutoAid for me too. I was with the AA for 30+ years, but the constant changes to cover, huge price increases, and poor responses to queries all forced me to change.

I'm with LV and have to say their level of service is excellent. My most recent example was complicated. Going to a track day at Mallory Park, driving my campervan, with bike on a trailer. The trailer suffered a catastrophic wheel bearing failure within a few miles of the circuit. LV recovered the bike and trailer, allowing me to got to the circuit for an hour or so, and then drive home. LV delivered the trailer and bike to home the following day. No quibles or complaint at all from LV, and the driver was awesome.

I'm with RAC ..... haven't had to use them for a while, but when I did they were very good. As with a lot of things, there's an element of luck who who you get & what their capabilities are.
The sole reason I use the RAC is that its effectively free, by purchasing the cover with my Tesco club card points.
I choose "personal" cover, which covers me in any vehicle im in/on, irrespective of whether im the driver. (Not had to try that function yet ......)
Of all the things I have ever lost, I miss my mind the most .....

I've have good experience with both Autoaid and RAC.

Currently with RAC as AutoAid aren't such good value once your vehicles get over a certain age. With RAC you really need to have the App on your phone but when my van recently decided to eat its own valves on the A303 they were there in 20mins and took me straight home.
