dont change the subject ;)

eeeeeenyway we digress, back to ticketyboos problem though, like lee said fuel could have gone off, might be worth draining float bowls of old fuel (should be a screw at the bottom of the float bowl), clean up the plugs and maybe even give it a sniff of eze-start. once you get it going the once, it should be easier to start again after that.

Does the dragstar have a vacuum pet-cock? if so might be worth putting it to th "pri" position to bypass this

also its worth remembering that if you are turning the engine over for ages and its not starting you will foul the plugs in the end ie get em wet with petrol and they wont spark, making it even harder to start

there you go jumping the gun again, i hope your not this premature in everything you do christopher

Ticketyboo - if your engine is turning over at a healthy speed and you have carried out all the idiot checks (engine kill switch, side stand switch, fuel in the tank, fuel tap on) the next thing is to check to see if you have a spark.

This requires taking the plugs out and holding them against the engine while pressing the starter button. This will also give u a chance to clean them (as chris said) the problem could simply be that you've flooded the engine.
so it turns out.........sometime i do give a f*ck

premature? nah just efficient Andy - why prolong a job when you end up with the same result anyway?

and call me cautious but i'd rather rest the plug on the cylinder head than hold it there :o

WIMP :D

i was assuming some degree of common sense, i.e. hold the Cap not the actual plug - and i know u should never assume as it only makes an ASS out of U and ME
so it turns out.........sometime i do give a f*ck
