Coast & country Somerset Rideout Cancelled

Post by Tvrv37 »

OK so thought it was about time I lead a rideout. The ride Starts at Tesco Castle Street Taunton at 8.30am. Please arrive in good time fully fueled. We then ride down to our first stop in Watchet where there will be toilet facilities, coffee available and food to order. From there we will head back through Taunton, Othery, Keinton Mandeville with a fuel stop, Frome and up to Trowbridge where there will be another toilet stop and possible coffee. We will then head across the Mendips towards Cheddar with the finish point being Sainsbury's Taunton. Although not 125 friendly the route will be on good roads with a mixture that I hope suits both the more experienced rider and the novice alike, so please don't be intimidated. Below is a link to an indicative route. It probably won't be exactly this but it gives you some idea. Hope to be done by mid afternoon depending on how long the stops are.

Please note Billinom8s guidance on current rideout guideline

Indicative route.

Me likey...

Trowbridge is the start point for most Wiltshire Bikers' rides, and I've led quite a few for them.

Hope to make this and will prob off-bugger at Wells.

I'll be on for this one Phil. See you at castle street tescos. Happy to lead a a group up from Exeter way if anybody wants to come along. I'll leave Exeter services at 0740 to get to Taunton in time for fuel and coffee and chat and some relentless piss taking I'm sure :D :) :ymhug:

Just noticed the 08.30 bit.

That is an 04.30 out of bed for me. Brekky, get bike ready, get dressed etc. plus petrol and an hour or so en route.

We'll see. My rides start at 10.00 or 10.30 - much more civilised.

I thought that at your age Larry 0430 was actually your normal time to get up anyway? :)):

I might be up for this one, both Keinton Mandeville and Trowbridge are <1hr away from me and it won't be too early by the time you get there.

As of now yes it is. I have enquired as to availability on the Ian Lougher track day on the Saturday, so I may postpone. I should get an answer later today so will post an update.

Ok it looks like I'm going to get a place on the Ian Lougher Track Day on the 1st so I'm going to postpone the rideout. As there is a friendly ride on the 9th I thought the new date will be 16th August. Thanks and sorry to mess around with the dates.

Just thought I would re-energise this to find out if there is any interest in the rideout. Happy to push the start time back to 9am if that helps the Devon crue. Post if you're coming Thanks.
