You are of course welcome along to any Southwestbikers rideout, however your bike must be in good mechanical order (we don’t want anything falling off of it including you), taxed and have a current MOT. You must have a valid motorcycle licence and current motor insurance. You are in charge of your motorcycle at all times and SWB will not accept any responsibility for actions you take or any accidents you may have. Always ride within your own capabilities and do not put others at risk. Remember, while you are on a Southwestbikers rideout you are representing the site and what it stands for.
Thank-you.

The fact that you know that you have done something wrong and then you try to out run a Police vehicle is never going to end well.

Quite sure that the sentance would have been a lot lighter if the rider had just stopped, applogised to the police officer, taken on board his comments and been defensive. Might have even got off with a warning.

Bikes might be quick but not quick enough to evaide cameras recording you, and with dash cams becoming more the norm who knows who is recording you when your on the road. :erm:

8 months in jail with a turn around of offence to sentencing in just under 5 weeks! Show me a car driver with the same conviction stats. :?:

You watch these little Shites that are guilty of TWOC, high speed evasion and decamping . They get 50 hours community service.

He didnt just fail to stop tho he was speeding failed to stop also was disqualified and had no insurance.i get pritty pissed with people who think it's ok to drive/ride with mo licence or insurance I worked hard to pay for my licence and pay my insurance to protect me and others If he had hit me the only person out of pocket would of been me I'm glad he got the sentence hes not a fellow biker hes a guy that rides without insurance and a licence wich gives "bikers" a bad name 99% of bike riders are men and woman who stay within the law

Not denying he's an Arse and gives us a bad name.

Just comparing it to the stuff you read about in the news and see on the police shows. Where dicks with no license etc, steal a car, race about, crash into others, run from the police and then dump the car and do one. They get picked up, arrested, told off, community service or a small fine at £5 a month and release to do it all over again.

I agree with that you read about it all the time you really cant guess what any one will receive as punishment any more you see prolific shoplifters get cought for the 100th time and get to pay 25 pound compensation and banned from the shop .and then you get a mum first time shop lifter to get food for the family who gets 200 pound fine (true story) the system is shit think it all comes down to what moods people are in

As said above gives all of us a bad name as people only remember the people who have done bad never the hundreds that have done good.

If he'd been riding a stolen scooter with a few bags of loot he'd have got a ASBO and therapy.

He should have said it wasn't safe to stop.

Custodial sentence for running a red? Yes, very harsh.
But running a red was hardly the main issue, was it? Speeding, overtaking into oncoming traffic, failing to stop, driving whilst banned, uninsured, undertaking whilst fleeing, running a red causing others to panic brake/take avoiding action, and you know all too well how horribly congested that stretch of road is at commuting times.

I guess it depends on the mood of the magistrate on the day, and whether there's more to the riders circumstances than the paper reports.
Of all the things I have ever lost, I miss my mind the most .....
