Nurburgring 2007

Post by CvPiper »

I'll be returning next year after a great time next year. Idea is to book up for 15 people (inc 1 van for kit and tools etc) as soon as I know what weekends the 'ring is open.

I will of course invite last years riders first, only polite, but then there will be spaces to fill, first come first served. Let me know on this thread if anyone is interested. All a good bunch of blokes, bikers, and great beer and track time.

Found a great hotel this year, so 4 nights there, varying what to do each day from there. Riding over in groups, with an overnight at Dover before slogging it there the day after.

Cost, for ferry, hotel in germany and van is likely to be £250 pp, like this year.

craig as noted on the other thread I have a gang of three or four lined up for the weekend of June 1st. (in all likelyhood it will be open for that weekend, as the weekend before it is closed for the rock weekend they hold there)

the gixerjunkies lot already have a hotel provisionally booked for the weekend of the 1st (about 30 odd of them so far I think)... Id like to get there when that lot go and add to the GSXR hoardes on the track

I will keep an eye on this thread as it might be worth us lining up on certain things or using the same accomodation. Should we be there the same weekend...or should arrangements to go on the weekend of the 1st June fall apart for me.

Does anyone know the actual exhaust noise limits for getting on the Ring? And how strict are they on the day?

I'm guessing a TRX with non-standard cans would struggle to get through :?

Just be very light on throttle going in, loads of Milles with aftermarket cans got through, even I did with my Yoshi as i was careful on throttle when going to and leaving the gates.

95db is the official limit which rules out any race cans...not that you will necassarilly get picked up on that. But they do noise test spot checks and its a long way to go to get picked up on it.

If in doubt revert to standard has got to be the easy way thats what I did when I went there to watch the rain :x , but then my Akra shorty could almost drown out a termi shod Duc.

When I went last year they were doing spot checks. Mainly checking cans which look like they've had a baffle removed. Luckily I took my baffle with me so just bolted it in when I wanted to go on the ring. Wasn't a problem :D

Got a few TRX mates talking about going - none of us have standard cans - I think that'd attract some attention :D
