polishing

After noting a few surface scratches, am thinking it's about time I treated the trumpet to a spot of polish. Anyone recommend anything particular or just a halfords own? Colour match polishes any good?

Just wondering before buying something rubbish that ruins the paint/finish. Not really a fan of T cut as it removes a layer and am looking to polish and protect.

Dont polish to protect, polish the paint up and then wax to protect,
Autoglym and dodo juice are great cleaning products, but can get expensive,

Would state use Autoglym ultra deep shine, (but can be colour dependant)

Otherwise if trying to get scratches out it would be best using a 3m cutting compound and glaze combo,

Given its two different colours, and in some places the plastic underneath is grinning through, I'd suggest a good painter ......

use a damp cloth when applying the polish too, stops scratches. then use a separate micro fibre cloth to buff up to a shine.






what wax would you use Ian ?

I use both autoglym high def wax and dodo juice super natural on majority of my vehicles,
Gives protection and closes the pores of the lacquer so to speak,

Makes such a difference,
If you have impurities in the paint also the zymol cleaner wax works really well to lift the baked in crud out of the paint,
(And smells amazing I have to hide it from the mrs)

Autoglym -every time. As Ian said it's not the cheapest but if your only doing one vehicle with it then it should last quite a while.

I've got a bottle of "Mer" that seems to work well too ...... (when I remember to actually polish something, that is )

Managed it once. I usually just wash mine now and skip to the third stage

Thanks all for the advice and suggestions. Despite not being ranted about but suggested and after looking for auto glym in Halfords this afternoon, could only find Mer. So will let you know what happens, Might even refit the original red fairings for a full effect. Might not but.... ;)
