The U-boat museum in St Nazaire, there is also a large ship building yard close by and the Airbus factory does tours. But then that's my bag ;) Some nice riding roads round that way too so I hear.......

£500 is just about enough fuel money to get us to the ferry port. The rest of the week is begging for money for more fuel.

We've found this year for some friends 35 quid return for Ferry, five nights for an apartment 190 quid in mosel vally 25 miles from the ring. Cost us about 60 quid in fuel each from Barnstaple to bruttig-fankel in the mosel 725 miles. Great roads, great beer and the nurburgring what more do need :)):

+1 on the Nurburgring, not sure if it can be done for that money but its one on my bucket list, every time a trip comes up I seem to be unable to make it.

I still have a plan to head over to the north west 200, seems reasonable.

I'd love to see the Milau Bridge, by my reckoning (Google maps :D ) 950 miles each way £360 fuel 3 days there , 3 days back. Aggravated piles and camp sites.

Alternatively, (and slightly easier on the bum) The D-Day beaches, Dunkirk and Flanders, to pay my respects.

I'm with you on the Milau Bridge and perhaps a visit to the Med afterwards. Would prefer hotels. Keeps the bike safe and they are cheap compared to UK.

Did the beaches a while back, the Gun emplacements are worth a look and there's a museum in Caen.

Around Normandy you can also see memorials or signs noting when some places were liberated and what happened. Can also see Pegasus Bridge

I know a lovely restaurant in Caen if anyone is buying. :-)
