Just pricing up tyres for the bike. Just wondering what the W means in the tyre spec. 120 /70 / ZR17 W58. Getting Pirelli diablo rosso corsa's. Given that's what I am use to now.

Just curiosity more than anything as it's never crossed my mind before so obviously hasn't effected my riding so far, unless ignorance is bliss...

Load maximum and (reduced) speed rating if fully loaded.

W - speed rating of 167

58- max load rating 236 kgs

Thank you guys along with a little bit of google research, you're spot on. Had just never given it a thought just always asked for a tyre size...
