try using the little thing i think kawasaki refer to as ' a catch'. i believe it incorporates an additional device allowing the part to be locked in place. It's quite an ingenious invention and normally proves to be fool proof.

I really want to laugh at this however...........

Gee's currently doing mine as well as being the bright spark that I am I rested the seat cowl in its usual position without clipping it shut after stopping to fill the bike up with fuel and putting my wallet and phone back in the back of the bike.

Then when riding down the road felt it banging against me, reached back to try and push it down and of course by then it was to late......
