Re: Bike Safe

I've done it and you don't keep to limits but don't do the sort of speeds you do in Wales. :-)

Enough for a bit of entertainment but respectful that you have a copper with a camera right behind you...

Re: Advice Needed - New Helmet

I've tried loads of helmets. (Stop sniggering) Sharks good but I could get the one I tried off whilst still strapped to my head. Shoei don't generally fit. AGV ok, especially with the latest lining but Arai are miles better in comfort and fit. Performed well in an accident years ago too whereas I'm ...

Police speeding and tyres

Just seen this on the BBC new site. https://www.rotherhamadvertiser.co.uk/news/view,video-100mph-crash-caused-by-rotherham-police-officer-who-said-to-colleague_33613.htm Prosecutor Ms Clare Walsh said Guest had reached speeds of between 94mph and 99mph on Shepcote Lane, Sheffield — a dual carriagewa...

Re: Hearing protection

I wear plugs but on the fjr I still find the wind noise loud unless I put the windscreen up high and hide beneath it.

It's much louder than the gsxr.

So all I can take from this is that screen and bike can make a high difference.

Re: Recommendation for billinom8s motorcycle work

Wasn't a helicoil. It was rethreaded to a larger size and a hex bolt now.

I knackered the thread on a gex550 sump years ago. Took the pan off and got it helicoiled but didn't really want a helicoil for the gsxr on account of it's hard enough staying right way up without spreading oil...

Re: Pub meet 25th September, Exeter Toby carvery

Why does it have to be a pub meet? Can't we use Teams? ;-)

I'm happy to go with the general plan. Be great to get abroad next year.

Recommendation for billinom8s motorcycle work

Hi Guys, Had my GSXR worked on by billinom8s last weekend. No, not crashed it again, previous garage had stripped the sumps thread for the sump plug. He fixed the issue, changed the oil/filter plus did some ancillary work on the bike. Did a great job at what I thought was a reasonable price, much lo...
