Smoking companys have to addict at least 106,000 people together each year because so many of their customers are killed from their products. Although I think the goverment is just full of greedy idiots, I also think people who smoke are pritty stupid to, espesaily if they complain about it like me.
Just my appinion.

Can't see it making any difference at all - if 12yr olds and up can get them now, why will it make any difference? I have not heard of a single case of an under 16 being prosecuted for smoking .........
As for smoking, I don't care one way or the other - I've chosen not to smoke, never have, but do choose to drink (now and then
), and do choose to ride a bike (slowly
), all I ask is that if people wish to smoke then they do it in the privacy of their own home or in an open space where it will not impact on others. I find it quite sad to see all the poor saps huddled around office block doors cowering from the weather just to feed their addiction ............ there again I think the same when I drive across town late at night and see people sat in the gutter, puking or unable to walk.
It's like all these things that everyone thinks should be banned (smoking, hunting, boxing, etc., ) where do you stop - logically alcohol should be banned - look at the cost to police and health care - but what about motorbikes .... far safer to use public transport ..... it all comes down to sensibility and personal choice.
If you can ban one thing "for the safety of those who don't know what's good for themselves", where do you stop

Of all the things I have ever lost, I miss my mind the most .....
Handle stressful situations like a dog - If you can't eat it or play with it, pee on it and walk away

I hate smoking, I dont like smokey pubs.billinom8s wrote:smoking should be banned - period !!

It does nothing but make you unhealthy and unfit, and it infringes on others.
but that said I would still rather put up with people smoking than have to shoulder that Tax burden, the goverment draws 8 billion pounds* in tax revenue from cigerette smokers every year. That money has to come from somewhere, be sure that if you ban smoking it is you and me who will have to pick up that 8 billion pound tab.
So carry on smoking please...I get taxed enough already.

page 270 if want year on year tax income stats from the gov - quite an interesting set of large numbers...
I wouldn't class myself as a smoker, but if I’m out in the pub or out drinking i usually have a cigarette or two. I don't thinking anyone can get on their high horse about smoking innless they live an active life, healthy vegan diet and don’t drink. It's like saying "excuse me, can you keep your lung cancer to yourself while I develop liver sclerosis"
I think smoking is only bad for you when it becomes a habit, and the occasional cigarette isn't the end of the world.
changing the age from 16 to 18 wont really change anything, on one hand it might make it seem more rebelious and make it more attractive to kids in the same way "dont touch that" dosnt work either. However if it makes it a bit harder for a couple kids and stops a kid or two from being additcted, it might achive some good.
recently i was in Australia and while i was out there, they brought in a ban on smoking in pubs. The only thing it achieved was that every pub, bar and club smells of beer, feet and farts
ill take smoke any day
