so it is a full strip down new main bearings gaskets and a rebore , oh and larger piston and rings
so not that cheep around £1200
i got a bloke who raced huskys for 7 years to do the work cos he could rebore it.
but i later broke a crank case and i rebuild it when that happened, and crank cases are only £1200+vat!!
and do i notice the difference ??well yer a bit , you can run larger gears so more speed and exceleration :D
but i only did mine because the engine needed a refresh.
didn't realise they'll need re-building at 7-8k  I hope thats not £1200 for just the parts?!
Ahh, well if/when it needs to come apart il think about it then, you running standard gearing? I may try to go up a few teeth for a bit of top end as theres plenty of grunt low down.

hi m8 i have been told that a new rod is advisable so that the engine does not smash its self up ..
and it is on the smr 's not the sm's
gearing wise i am on a 44 "gold talon " rear (the gold makes it go faster!!!)
and i thing 17 front but it changes , like after i changed something in the engine i put on a smaller front so top speed 80-85 ish but fooook does it excelerate !!
but a little more top speed is allways good

Its really good choice of KTM660smc.
The strongest serial Supermoto, KTM has ever built. 654 cc engine, chassis with special race adjustment.
And KTM 560smr
It has super-agile handling and minimal weight. Lots of torque and plenty of power, 6-gear transmission and 165 slicks.
Good collection.

Just read this thread, was lookin for whats good for sm in the sw, lol. (Turns out not a great deal...)

My current sm is a 02' Drz 400, which hasn't got many standard parts left on it now, just bought an Aprilia SXV550, which is goin to be my weekend bike, was either that or spending out on bore/stroke kit for the Drz...

I've also got a Tuono 1000 which is my daily ride, well it was untill the front head wanted replacing, but should be back on the road soon!

Good to see theres more of us out there! We'll have to arrange a ride at some point!

07' Aprilia Tuono:- Akrapovics 'n' Mapped to match
02' Suzuki DRZ400:- Engine, suspension and brakes all changed, too much to list!
