Castle Combe Track Day Noise Limit
I have an unexpected day off on Wednesday so I'm thinking about doing the track day at Castle Combe. Do you know if my Ducati 848 is likely to pass noise testing on Termis with baffles or do I need to put standard pipes on?

Yeah, but it's kind of a mockery when you get full on Group B rally cars, open-piped Ferrari's, roaring yank V8's, etc., at events like RallyDay held there .......

Re: Castle Combe Track Day Noise Limit
The measured distance from exhaust is closer than most tracks use I think so DB figure alone can be misleading, a number of stock bikes can fail at CC, so I would recommend a cautious approach

A friend with her Gsxr750 failed noise test there Dave, I'd take a back up plan if you're going
If I have to explain, you'll NEVER understand

Jolz just passed with her srad 750 on standard can I thick it's 105dbs but I think they test abit closer
IT'S ONLY METAL HIT IT HARDER !!!!!!!
Re: Castle Combe Track Day Noise Limit
pretty sure Crazycraig had his 848 on standard pipes fail at Combe. But there was a 1098 there on Termis that had made it on track. Make of that what you will!
Re: Castle Combe Track Day Noise Limit
Its tested at 3/4 of the max revs NOT ACU testing. 1/2m from the exhaust is the norm.
With the YZF 750 I bent the needle back 1500rpm and pasted ok.
Andy on his RSV-R with dB killers noticed that the guy wasn't watching the rev counter when he was reading the meter. So he rev'ed it about 2000 rpm less than the block asked for and only just passed. It sounded obvious to me that he wasn't reving it but we got through.
Didn't get pulled on track when we were using the throttle properly
