Boris's blabber was a total mess - almost Trumplike. If we start to go out and about, even with the best will in the world regarding distancing, the virus will take off again and more people will die than if we keep at home as much as possible.
old and disgraceful so doing what I can while I can before I can't

All he had to do was say "lockdown is still in full force, but if your place of employment can be safely opened up and meet the requirements of social distancing, then it can do so"
Instead we got a load of confusing, contradictory mumbo-jumbo that's left people either confused or able to do whatever they feel like!

Let's be honest about this. It is all about managing the number of people suffering at any one time.
Until the annual flu vaccination there were more than 15k uk deaths from it every year, but because this is new it would be too much to handle in one go.
We cannot all hide away forever, but if it is steadily managed then it won't overwhelm the services.

MikeZ, I am with you. The only way we currently start getting back to normal is when 80+% of the population has an immunity to the virus. That happens in 2 ways. you get it and build up your own immunity to the virus or they have a vaccination for it. As normal clinical trials of an actual cure will take 18 months from when they have one I would suggests we are years away from having a "have this injection and your be fine" type treatment.

Which means we are all left with the very sobering through that at some point we are all very likely to get it and you just have to role the dice as to if your one of the lucky ones or one of the unlucky ones who wont make it.

This being said i think i have left my home 3 times (twice for a walk once for shopping) in the last 4 week.......
