Glove recommendations please.

Post by Jay »

Hi all,

I am after a nice warm pair of gloves for commuting. The ones i currently have, have served me well and they are giving up the ghost. I commuted from Truro to Fareham on the 600 with out heated grips last night and it's time to have a new pair....

So what are you all using and what's your recommendations?

No specific recommendations on brands or models but might want to consider heated versions. I know you have heated grips on the BMW but going for full on heated gloves / body warmer is the way to go if your riding in sun 10 deg temperatures, rain and wind

I've found that a pair of silk / satin liners help a lot.

I use Gerbing XRL heated gloves with silk inner gloves on my heated grips when it's particularly cold.

You can try 'em and they may help a bit - I have and they helped stave off blue fingers for around an extra 20 minutes but Jack Frost will get you in the end for sure :( . With the kind of commuting you gave as an example earlier there's no substitute for keeping your mitts dry and out of the wind - obviously. So you've got tons of options starting with heated grips as a minimum, then heated & waterproof gloves, then barkbuster style handguards to help keep some of the wind off etc. etc. Considered bar muffs? Ugly perhaps but if you've got room to fit 'em they've got to be the D B's.
