exactly - people who can afford the expensive car dont give a [censored] about paying an extra £50 a year - they are not going to notice it...

as for depriving those who have not found a job within a certain time funky - could not agree more, after all it is called:

The new raise in car tax will only affect people with cars from 2001 onwards as this was when the government introduced emissions testing for new vehicles, so i'll still only pay £175 per year for my motor!

I still believe that vehicle tax should be scrapped for bikes as it would be a good incetive to get more people on two wheels and ease congestion and therefore pollution.

like the idea but they dont actually appear to want to encourage people to take to 2 wheels though do they...

Its a shame!! Back home in Newport we can use the bus lanes legally as well. Never seen why we can't in other cities. Makes filtering a lot safer/easier.

yes - they having been toying with that idea for a while - even in plymouth but never settled on giving it a trial...

Because bikes aren't even on the radar of the government, both national and local. They don't like it when we crash 'cause it makes the stats look bad.........so they dont want to encourage it too much.

We should be allowed to use bus lanes, it could be our own private race track around Plymouth city centre....if only they got rid of the buses.

part of the m4 has a bus lane that u can use, and im sure u can in inner london aswell. not sure. makes sense. we should be able to use bus lanes, we dont take up much space, and some times filtering through traffic u get nob heads who will purposly close the gap so u cant get passed. whast the point, knobs.

Yes tax should be scrapped on bikes, the historic vehicle tax for vehicles over 25 years old was moved every year then all of a suddenly some misery gut mp realised somebody had a bit of pleasure out of keeping older vehicles on the road, so they stopped it at 1972, It will take a lot of protesting campaigning to get it moved again, but the buggers took it away with out even asking, We at the aircooled RD club are starting a campaign to get it moved again, or at least me ad Del Freeguard
