Anti social drivers

D & C Police are looking for ways of acrueing revenue again. They have announced a crackdown on "Anti-social drivers". They are particularly interested in loud stereos and modified exhausts. Apparently they now have some noise meters to assist them in collecting revenue. What is the be...

Re: Suspended sentence for 156 Mph Biker!

On here as well, don't know why 170 wasn't quoted in court. Beware, end of video does show how the fatal accident happened. http://www.falmouthpacket.co.uk/news/videonews/ Awful video, harrowing to watch at the end. Apparantly the police say that when the speedo was tested it was innacurate and 156...

Re: TIME TO LEAVE THE SITE

You sound a bit down, understandably so. Some people always whinge and it gets a bit waring especially when you are doing things for others benefit without reward. Don't worry about the shortfall, I can't see people letting you foot the bill, we will all cough up. Why not just let things rest a whil...

Re: smoking

True, but if we ignore the potential risks a moment, everytime you ride your bike you're exercising muscles and brainpower and getting the feel-good factor in a healthy way. Whereas every fag you smoke is actually causing physical damage, even if its only a bit at a time, and despite the perceived ps...

Re: Revenue driven, Target driven or Road Safety?

I quite agree, which is why, to suggest that it is the Governments interest to get us all off the roads and thus cut off such a vital source of revenue, is naive beyond belief.[/quote]

If you poke a stick at an animal with limited intelligence you can always predict the way it will react! Great fun though.

Re: Revenue driven, Target driven or Road Safety?

I take it that this is the question to which you refer ? Quite so but do you believe that speed is the dominant cause of these deaths? The governments own statistics suggest that in only 6 - 7% of fatal accidents is excessive speed the primary cause. Still irrelevant in light of the rather astoundi...

Re: smoking

I think it is about getting the right mindset. I gave up about 28 years ago. It took several attempts, I lasted 3 months first time, nearly six months then 18 months. During each period I craved a ciggy, especially after a meal or in the pub. Of course, many people smoked then, most of my friends an...

Re: Revenue driven, Target driven or Road Safety?

I note you haven't addressed any of the specific points I made Like wise, you sidestepped the point I made. This thread is about revenue made by speeding fines. You claim in your earlier post that the Governments ultimate goal is to get us all off the road. Wouldn't that be counterproductive. What ...

Re: Just an idea...an evaluative rideout ?

Ok, so i have pretty much learnt everything i know about how to ride from watching other people, and taking hints and tips from other people, and i have found it a really great way to improve my riding. So would anyone be interested in having a ride out where the aim was to watch each others riding...
